As a political science major, there are many paths I could take. However, given the direction of our country - and especially our state - I have chosen to work on changing it. I do not mean the change that many people my age are hyped up on; in fact, I mean the exact opposite. The change that I want to see is less government intervention and more opportunities for the private sector to succeed. This is why I have chosen to support Mark Neumann's.

From his experience as a home builder, Mark understands what small business and the private sector needs: lower taxes and less government regulation. His plan to hold the line on state spending will allow for incremental across the board tax cuts that will undoubtedly lead to a strong economy and more jobs in our state. Mark knows what it takes to create jobs, as his company has created hundreds over the past decade.

Equally important is Mark's experience as a Congressman. During this time, Mark worked with Speaker Newt Gingrich to develop a no tax increase alternative to the constant spending of the Clinton years. In fact, Mark is so against unnecessary government spending that he disapproved of pork-barrel projects even for his own district.

I could go on about how Mark's time as a teacher gives him knowledge in the education sector, but by now you understand the key point: experience. As the opposition likes to talk the talk, Mark has proven that he is able to walk the walk. Similarly, when choosing what I will do after graduation I know it is not enough to simply sit back and complain about the political situation in our state; this is why I have chosen to supportMark Neumann.
