As Congress puts the finishing touches on one of the most far-reaching pieces of legislation ever created, leaders from across the country have stood up to defend the rights of their respected states. In an effort to preserve quality healthcare, I am calling on Wisconsinites to join forces and demand that their elected officials in both Madison and Washington work diligently to stop the federal government from mandating how healthcare is operated in Wisconsin.

Additionally, there are several courses of action I will be able to take to fight this legislation, once elected Governor. I have laid out two of these options in my press release on healthcare.

• Many other states are considering constitutional amendments that aim to preserve private healthcare choice. I support a Senate Joint Resolution that would preserve choice and private healthcare options here in Wisconsin.
• I urge the state Justice Department to be prepared to join over a dozen Attorneys General in their fight against a potentially unconstitutional provision in the bill.
