Why Run for Governor?

My wonderful wife of 36 years, Sue and I have three adult children and three grandchildren. Our faith and our family are the most important things in our lives. As we look at our nation and our state we believe a new positive vision is needed. Our dream and our vision is that our children and grandchildren have the same opportunities we have enjoyed, living in this the greatest nation in the world.

I am running to provide a positive vision for the future of our state and nation. Our top priority will be ensuring job opportunities for our children and grandchildren. We can and will make Wisconsin the best place in the world to both raise a family and earn a living.

My vision is that we can make Wisconsin a model for the rest of the nation to look to for direction. We can and will create an environment where businesses with jobs that are located here stay and expand, and businesses that are looking for a location for their jobs will find it to their advantage to come to Wisconsin.

We will always keep in mind that we are in a global market place. Everything we do must be competitive in the global markets.

The policies currently being implemented at both the federal and the state level are crushing the spirit of Americans. The result is a fearful and demoralized population and a loss of jobs and opportunities for our children's future.

Higher taxes and more costly regulation on businesses clearly are causing businesses to make the decision to locate in nations where it is more cost effective to do business. As the jobs leave the tax revenues that would have been generated leave with the jobs. This further compounds the problem.

I am running for governor in order to turn Wisconsin around and allow us to demonstrate what is necessary to be competitive in the global market place to retain, grow, and attract jobs for the next generation of Americans.

In doing so we will be creating the best place in the world to both raise a family and earn a living. This is the vision for our great state and why I am running for Governor in the great State of Wisconsin.
